Delicious Chaos

I did not sew a stitch today.

Well....two seams....but in the grand scheme of things two seams is not sewing.

My studio looks like this and I love it. You can see some partial blocks sitting on my laptop.

So what did I do today? I had to drive the Punk to school because it is cold like St. Michael's Pass so they didn't run the buses. I took the Pixie to the one mall in town that has an indoor playground and drank coffee while she ran off some energy. I had a great chat with a Somalian lady. Then I got a haircut and did lunch with the Husband. After picking up the Punk, we spent almost two hours at the library so that Husband could sleep (he works nights).

However, here are the ten blocks I got done yesterday, and the day before that. I've got a few more partial blocks already anticipating my tender loving designs....coming soon.

Some I love, some I tolerate. Two entire blocks have ended back into the scrap pile to be chopped up and reused because they didn't sing to me.

I had to take a day off because I was starting to over-think my decisions...I confess that a ruler made an appearance more than once. It was certainly time for a day away from my machine.

What do you do when your process gets derailed? Take a day off? Read? Nap? Set the project aside and focus on an alternate WIP? What amps your mojo?

  1. sometimes we get so close to a project...we just cannot see it. SO a day away from it is GOOD x glad you had a nice time ...and a rest (for you and hubby) x
